Fine Fescue

Fine Fescue Chewings (Festuca rubra commutate) Creeping Red Fescue (Festuca Rubra) low maintenance, cold tolerant turf grasses which mixes well with perennial ryegrass.  Requires little water, sun and fertilizer.  Fine fescues are used in a variety of ways, in parks with shaded areas, home lawns and areas requiring low maintenance such as roads and slopes.  (Description from Oregon Seed Council)

Hard Fescue

(Festuca brevipila) is the hardiest of fescues in the cool season grass seed mixtures when there is a problem with shade.  It is shade, drought and disease resistant.  Hard fescue grows in clump formations and has a blue-green color which stays green longer periods of time.  It is a slow growing and low maintenance grass.

Chewing Fescues

(Festuca rubra sub) this fine leaf bunch grass fescue grows well in the shade, is drought resistant, and blends well with other grasses.  Chewings Fescue is non-aggressive which helps the predominant grasses ability to perform better.

Creeping Red Fescue

(Festuca rubral) is a cool season, slow spreading grass that fills in small bare spots in grass areas.  Traditionally lighter green then other turf grass that has a fine, narrow blade that prefers shady and cool areas.
